Brave - “Break Me Down”

Inspiration for Break Me Down came from the need to express that the only race which should matter today is the human one. Equal Rights for all. Regardless of your religious background, sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity, occupation.. regardless of what people do or say to you because of this - you must be brave & strong enough to NOT let it BREAK YOU DOWN. #BE2BME (Brave Enough 2 be ME)

WORLD PREMIERE: Nicki Minaj Ft. Chris Brown “Right By My Side” (Starring Nas)

Troy NoKA, {rapper, producer, musician and songwriter} began his music career producing songs for notable artists such as Frank Ocean and Chris Brown. NoKA is known for his production on Frank Oceans’ Nostalgia Ultra mix tape including records, “Love Crimes” (a fan favorite), “Dust” and “There Will Be Tears,” as well as Chris Brown’s “I Should Have Kissed You.” His musical style is often compared to artists such as Drake and Kanye thanks to his appeal to female audiences, lyrical style and melodic flow. He is now emerging from the studio to the stage as a solo artist whose piano is the bed for his aspirational lyrics. Troy credits his ability to produce radio-friendly records and to embrace the need for mainstream appeal as the factor that sets him apart from the other “underground movement” artists.

NoKA organically dropped his first solo project, Free Dreaming at the end of April, an impressive debut that stands on its own and is gaining nods from the likes of AOL Music, Fader and Vibe. On Free Dreaming, he plays piano, sings, raps and has clearly saved some of his strongest material for his solo work.

New Music: Katy Perry - Wide Awake

Dreadchild, of the group Knotz is making moves on the Hip Hop scene once again with the release of the video for his newest single, “The Definition.”

Coming off the successful release of the single and video for Dreadchild’s “I Don’t Make Believe,” which was premiered on HipHopDX, this newest track reveals meaningful lyrics combined with excellent vocals.

Although this is not a typical track one would expect to hear from Dreadchild he proves once again that through a perfectly paired collaboration he is a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop game.

“This song means a lot to me so I wanted someone dope on the hook and Erika had the voice and skill to make this track hot,” said Dreadchild. “I loved Erika’s dedication in the studio, she went in to the booth and would not come out until the hook was done and perfect.”

The meaning behind Dread’s upcoming single, “The Definition,” is really a metaphor for the impact that hip-hop has had on his life.  Its a love the east coast lyricist feels will always stay consistent. – An ode to hip hop.
